The Pizza Critic
I'm a kid that lives in Park City, Utah and loves to eat pizza. I eat enough of it, and try enough different places to tell you where the good pie is. If you have a favorite pizza place that I haven't been to, let me know.

Papa John's at RedStone
| Pizza Place: Papa John’s at Redstone |
Price | $10.99 They don’t sell slices so I had to buy a whole pie. |
Cheesiness | Light on the cheese. Cheese isn’t stringy. I would have liked a little more cheese. It covered the pie like a thin blanket. |
Sauce | Sauce has a sweeter flavor, if you like sweet pie. |
Crust | Perfect! Just the right everything. |
Size of slice | Ordered a large pie. Slices weren’t huge. |
Greasiness | NO grease. |
Niceness of server (I'm a paying kid, so I'll let you know if they're polite to me or rude.) | I went in with a coupon for the wrong place (too many Papa pizza places.) But, she gave me a break and sold the 1 topping (black olive) pie for $10.99 |
Overall flavor | Very good |
Appearance (over-baked, burned) | Perfect! |
My rating | 9 out of 10 |

Davanza's Downtown Park City
Pizza Place Davanza’s in town
Price | $2.99 per slice $6.00 student special includes fries and a drink |
Cheesiness | Ok, and greasy |
Sauce | I didn’t taste any sauce. |
Crust | Doughy. Crunchy on the edges |
Size of slice | small to medium |
Greasiness | Very greasy, |
Niceness of server (I'm a paying kid, so I'll let you know if they're polite to me or rude.) | Ok. It was during Sundance, so she really just took my order. |
Overall flavor | So so. |
Appearance (over-baked, burned) | Dry like it had been sitting around and just reheated. |
My rating | 7 I’d have to eat 3 of these slices to feel like I ate something. |

A slice of pie from Park City Pizza
Pizza Place Park City Pizza at Kimball Junction
Price | Unknown. Bought a pie. |
Cheesiness | Extra cheesy! Very stringy, chewy. |
Sauce | A bit sweet, I could taste a little salt. Smooth texture. |
Crust | Crunchy on the outside, light and doughy on the inside. |
Size of slice | Large |
Greasiness | None. |
Niceness of server (I'm a paying kid, so I'll let you know if they're polite to me or rude.) | Server was very nice. She even gave me brownies to take home! |
Overall flavor | Delicious. Cheese was smothered over the olives, so that changed the overall flavor. |
Appearance (over-baked, burned) | Perfect. Not overcooked or undercooked. |
My rating | 9.5 of 10 Why? Pizza was so hot when I first got it - I had to let it sit. I like that the slices were thick and filling, not wimpy and thin. |

Maxwell's Fat Boy Pizza
Maxwell's is located at Redstone. When I walked through the door, the cashier's didn't really notice me until I stepped up in front of them. Then, when I spoke up, they looked down at me and said, "Can I help you?' I ordered a slice of cheese and handed over my Local's card. The wait for my slice was 7 minutes. The slice was wrapped in tin foil.
| Pizza Place Maxwell's |
Price | Under $3.00 with the Locals card |
Cheesiness | Good, flavorful cheese with a nice seasoning which tied in nicely with the sauce and crust. Slight saltiness to the cheese. |
Sauce | The sauce had a tangy, sweet flavor to it. |
Crust | Nice air bubble, crust was perfect. |
Size of slice | Very good sized slice! |
Greasiness | A grease reservoir. |
Niceness of server (I'm a paying kid, so I'll let you know if they're polite to me or rude.) | Nice. Female that seemed kind of new, she didn't know how to take Locals Card and had to get the boss to help. |
Overall flavor | Really good overall flavor. All parts of the pie tied in together nicely. Good taste. |
Appearance (over-baked, burned) | Nicely baked, not undercooked or overcooked. Nothing burned. |
My rating | Overally, I'd give this pie an 8.5 or 9. |

- Crust
- Size of slice
- Greasiness
- Niceness of server (I'm a paying kid, so I'll let you know if they're polite to me or rude.)
- Overall flavor
- Appearance (over-baked, burned)
- My rating
The Pizza Critic
I love pizza. In fact, I love it so much, that I eat it several times a week. Not a problem for a vegetarian. I tell you what I think the best pizza in Utah is. I'll take photos of pizza, and describe the slice to you. I'll tell you why I like it, and why I don't. I only eat cheese pizza, so, like in any good science experiment, that variable will be kept constant. Sometimes, I'll do a side by side taste comparison and I'll tell you who won that day. Enjoy my blog as much as I enjoy pizza.
